Karkat Vantas heard the familiar ping of a new message on Trollian sound from his husktop. He got up with a grunt from the couch, pausing his romcom. He had already seen it a billion times but it was one of the few he had actually managed to capatulogue before his whole freaking planet had blown up and it provided some comfort and what little entertainment he could get after being stuck on this meteor for over a year. He hoped whoever it was had a good enough reason to distract him from this fine piece of cinema.
Oh who was he kidding anything would be more interesting than this crap.
He saw the teal text and took a moment to be surprised.
CG: I PAUSED MY ROMCOM FOR THIS. IT BETTER BE IMPORTANT.
He waited for the teal text to appear again. It didn't.
CG: OKAY I'M SORRY I'M A STUPID BULGE LICKER.
CG: WHAT DO YOU NEED.
CG: COME ON TEREZI WHAT IS IT.
GC: COULD YOU COM3 H3R3
CG: *HERE* WHERE?
CG: CAN TOWN?

One Year...She bounced cheerfully along the corridors, not knowing just how shortly her happiness would stop. Her long hair swished by her waist and a happy smile was upon her face. As she rounded the corner a foot stuck out and tripped her.One Year... by asininewings
Books flew everywhere as she fell far from gracefully to the ground. Hazel eyes blinked in confusion and then clouded with tears as the laughter and embarrassment rang into the depths of her ears.
Those she would have called friends, grinned down at her. They mocked her, they hurt her, they turned everyone against her. Or rather, she turned against everyone else. Loneliness on her horizon, she picked up her books and continued along the path. They were right; the first year of High School was absolutely terrible.
Upon arriving home that day, her sad and broken heart warmed a little. Flicking the switch for the computer to start, she sat on the chair to be taken away; taken away from the pain, the loneliness, the distrust, the paranoia and the depression.
